My first taste of travel was on a Contiki tour when I finished school and I got my first taste of the UK and Europe. I visited the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, France, Austria, Italy and Lichtenstein. My eyes were opened! I returned home to study, and as soon as I was done, I got a job in Dubai and lived there for 3 years, experiencing as much of the Middle East as I could, including UAE, Iran and Saudi. I grew up in the East Rand. Before becoming a Travel Counsellor in 2018, I studied Tourism & Marketing and graduated in 2001 at the Graduate Academy of South Africa. My journey in travel started in 2002 where I started as a Travel Consultant. I have 23 years of experience in the Travel Industry and have worked at 5 different agencies over the years. What a wonderful journey this has been, working in these different environments, learning new things and meeting new people and clients daily. In 2005 I was privileged to be chosen as the consultant in South Africa to take part in an International Exchange program with Australia where I worked in one of their agencies for 2 weeks and then travelled the country afterwards. I was fortunate enough to travel to France twice in 2022, and to visit Milan for the first time. It might just slowly be trumping Paris as my favourite European city. Later this year I'll be on a river cruise through Germany and the Netherlands and spending Christmas in Amsterdam - something that I last did (and loved) in 1992! My interest and passion for the travel industry started in 1987 when I returned from a year’s backpacking in Europe.I attended Rapid Results and I completed my diploma in 1987 and I started work at Triumph Travel in Sea Point that same year.After 2 years I decided to travel once again and this time I worked and travelled in Europe and in the UK until the end of 1990.I returned and started work at Hylton Ross Travel in Camps Bay. I could go on forever. My most memorable travel experience is backpacking around Europe for three months at 20 with my now-husband. We visited 17 countries and explored the most beautiful cities and beaches. We met so many amazing people and had the time of our lives!
