My name is Shirley Shearer, and I am a Travel Counsellor based in Zinkwazi Beach, just north of Ballito in KZN and near the new Club Med Resort. As a Travel Counsellor (also known as a TC), I have the flexibility to serve clients from anywhere in the world, ensuring that distance is never a barrier to providing support and guidance. Before becoming a TC, I was involved in the conception and launch of the Outdoor Adventure and Travel Expo. As the owner of this event, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to over 38 different countries over 30 years. My journeys included attending renowned Travel Expos in Berlin, London, and Durban (Indaba), further deepening my passion for travel and adventure. These experiences have been deeply rooted in my career and continue to influence my approach as a TC today.
My 4 Favourite Destinations:
1. Bali – which I have been to many times and remains the top of my list. Bali is very spiritual, and beautiful, exotic and the people are kind and gentle. The island has that WOW factor and leaves one with many memories. Nature and Wildlife, Beaches, Markets, Traditional Villages, Surfing, Cuisine and more.
2. India – was my first ‘off the African Continent experience’. I loved the journey – the exotic aromas, beautiful jewellery, crafted items, carpets, hustle and bustle, the people. There is much to explore, including the exotic Taj |Mahal, Temples, Elephant Encounters, Tigers Tours, and much more – a new awakening of the soul.
3. Nepal – Kathmandu, Pokhara, flight over Mt Everest, Hot Air Ballooning left wonderful memories. Trekking is very popular with destinations such as Everest and Annapurna Base Camps and Cultural Festival Tours.
4. Morocco – recently visited and just loved Marrakech, the Medinas and Souks, Atlas Mountains, Merzouga and Sahara Desert and Chefchaouen – the Blue City.
As a Travel Counsellor, I assist you in planning and organising travel arrangements and personalised services to ensure memorable experiences by working with trusted service providers, I share my passion for travel by sharing information about travel destinations, tourist attractions, and local customs and traditions. Offering advice on travel insurance, visas, and passports and staying informed of current international affairs.
