Itinerary:

Day 1: Seoul (Incheon), South Korea

Board Norwegian Jade in Incheon and settle in as your journey through South Korea and Japan begins. If time allows before sailing, discover Seoul’s mix of historic palaces, lively neighbourhoods and modern city life. Then return to the ship and get ready for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Jeju, South Korea

Arrive on Jeju, an island shaped by its volcanic landscape and dominated by Hallasan, South Korea’s highest mountain. Spend the day discovering dramatic scenery, walking trails and the island’s distinctive culture. Jeju offers a refreshing change of pace before you continue towards Japan.

Day 3: Nagasaki, Japan

Discover Nagasaki, a city with a fascinating history and a strong international influence. Visit its important historical landmarks, wander through its neighbourhoods or take in views across the harbour and surrounding hills. It’s a thought-provoking introduction to Japan.

Day 4: Kagoshima, Japan

Spend the day in Kagoshima, a waterfront city overlooked by the active Sakurajima volcano. Explore its gardens and local sights, sample regional flavours or simply enjoy views across the bay. The city’s volcanic surroundings make this a memorable stop on your journey.

Day 5: Hiroshima, Japan

Explore Hiroshima and learn about a city that has become an international symbol of peace. Visit the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome, or travel to nearby Miyajima to see the famous Itsukushima Shrine. Historic landmarks and beautiful surroundings give you plenty of ways to spend your day.

Day 6: Beppu, Japan

Known for its natural hot springs, Beppu offers a different side of Japan. Discover steaming geothermal landscapes, traditional onsen culture and views of the surrounding mountains and coastline. It’s a relaxing contrast to the larger cities visited along the way.

Day 7: Kochi, Japan

Arrive in Kochi on the island of Shikoku, where historic sights sit alongside beautiful natural scenery. Explore Kochi Castle, browse the local markets or discover the region’s temples and gardens. Don’t miss the chance to try katsuo no tataki, one of Kochi’s best-known local dishes.

Day 8: Kyoto (Kobe), Japan

Dock in Kobe, giving you the chance to explore this cosmopolitan port city or venture further into the Kansai region. Discover Kobe’s waterfront, historic neighbourhoods and famous food scene, or head towards Kyoto for temples, shrines and traditional Japanese culture. It’s a day packed with possibilities.

Day 9: Nagoya, Japan

Explore Nagoya, a modern city with a fascinating samurai and industrial heritage. Visit Nagoya Castle, discover the city’s museums or spend time exploring the shops and restaurants of Sakae. Be sure to sample some of Nagoya’s distinctive local cuisine before returning to the ship.

Day 10: Tokyo (Yokohama), Japan

Arrive in Yokohama, bringing your nine-night cruise aboard Norwegian Jade to an end. From here, Tokyo’s bright lights, neighbourhoods, temples, shopping and food scene are waiting to be explored. Extend your stay and discover more of Japan, or begin your journey home.
