How I Help You Plan a Holiday From Start to Finish
Planning a holiday is meant to feel exciting, but it often ends up feeling like hard work: too many tabs open, conflicting reviews, spiralling costs and no idea if you are actually choosing the right thing. That is where I come in. I am here to take all that noise away and turn your ideas into a trip that feels calm, considered and completely “you.” In this blog I will walk you through exactly what it is like to plan a holiday with me, from our first chat to the moment you arrive back home.
Step 1: A relaxed first conversation
Everything starts with a proper, relaxed chat.
This might be over the phone, on WhatsApp, video call or in person if you are nearby. There is no pressure and no “hard sell.” I simply want to get to know you and understand what a great holiday looks like for you.
We will talk about things like:
- Who is travelling and what everyone enjoys
- Holidays you have loved (and ones that were not quite right)
- The type of accommodation you feel comfortable in
- WHat you are comfortable in spending and how flexible your dates are
I listen for the little details: do you love a boutique feel or a larger resort, is a kids’ club a must, do you prefer lazy days by the pool or getting out and exploring, are you celebrating something special?
The more I understand you, the more personal your holiday will feel.
Step 2: I do the research so you do not have to
Once I have a clear picture of what you want, I go away and do the hard work for you.
Behind the scenes I will be:
- Checking which destinations and dates work best for your wish‑list
- Carefully picking out hotels, villas or resorts that genuinely suit your style
- Looking at flight options, transfer times and the practical bits that make a trip run smoothly
Instead of sending you pages of random options, I narrow everything down to a small selection that really fits. I will explain why I am recommending each option, what I love about it for you, and where there might be any trade‑offs, so you can make decisions with confidence rather than guesswork.
You can then take your time to look everything over, knowing it has all been filtered with you in mind.
Step 3: Shaping a trip that feels like yours
Once you have had a chance to look through the ideas, we refine everything together.
This might mean:
- Adjusting dates to suit school calendars or work commitments
- Upgrading a room type to get that special view or extra space
- Adding nights to break up a longer journey
- Switching resorts or destinations to get the right mix of relaxation and exploring
This is also when we start to add in the little touches that make the holiday memorable: private transfers so you are not queueing for taxis, a special dinner, a sunset cruise, a spa afternoon, wine tasting, theme park tickets, a private guide or a surprise treat for someone you love.
Every change is shaped around your pace, your interests and your budget.
Step 4: Booking everything and sorting the details
Once you are happy with the plan, I take care of the bookings.
I will handle:
- Flights and accommodation
- Transfers and key extras we have agreed
- Making sure timings, connections and luggage allowances all work together
You will receive clear confirmations and an easy‑to‑read itinerary so you know exactly what is included and when balances are due. I will also talk you through any important travel information that you need to be aware of for your trip, so you feel prepared rather than overwhelmed.
You do not need to spend hours checking and double‑checking everything: that is my job.
Step 5: Support before and during your holiday
My support does not end once you have paid your deposit.
Before you travel, I will check in to make sure everything still feels right, answer any last‑minute questions and help with those final details that always pop up.
While you are away, you have the reassurance of knowing there is someone you can reach out to if you need help. If something unexpected happens, such as a delay or a change of plans, you are not left on hold with a call centre. You have me in your corner, ready to assist.
Some of my favourite moments are the messages and photos clients send me while they are away. I genuinely love seeing you enjoying the trips we have planned together.
Step 6: After you get home
Once you are back home and the suitcases are unpacked, I still care what happens next.
I will check in to hear how everything went. Your honest feedback is so important, because it helps me make your next holiday even better. Over time, I build up a really detailed understanding of your travel style, which means each trip gets easier to plan and feels more “made for you.”
Many of my clients stay with me year after year, and it is a real privilege to plan everything from quick weekend escapes to big once‑in‑a‑lifetime adventures as life moves on.
Why planning with me feels different
There is so much information online that it can feel impossible to know who or what to trust. My role is to bring everything back to something simple: one person who knows you, understands what matters to you, and looks after the details.
Instead of scrolling endlessly and second‑guessing every decision, you can hand that stress over to me. I combine expert knowledge with a genuinely personal service, so you can focus on the fun part: looking forward to going away.
From our very first conversation to the moment you return home, I am with you all the way.
