Europe Cruise: Helsinki to Copenhagen

7 Days From R28,200 per person sharing

The Baltic rewards those who already know their way around a cruise deck. This 7-day voyage moves between Nordic capitals and hidden Baltic gems, threading together medieval quarters, Art Nouveau boulevards, and gourmet finds that reward the curious palate.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki greets you as a true sea-city, its dramatic coastline broken by bays and inlets that shape daily life here. The Art Nouveau architecture gives the streets real character, matched by a people who define the place far more than its northern climate ever could. Spend your day tracing those historical roots, which the city has kept beautifully intact.

Day 2: Tallinn, Estonia

Estonia's capital pairs medieval houses with sharp modern boutiques and a café culture worth lingering over. Step inside the ancient walls of Old Town to reach Toompea Castle and a 15th-century apothecary, then jump forward a couple of centuries at Tsar Peter I's Kadriorg Palace. Its art collections sit within sculpted gardens and quiet woodland, a rewarding contrast to the medieval core.

Day 3: Stockholm (Nynäshamn), Sweden

Your ship docks at Nynäshamn, a small Swedish port where ferries set off for the island of Gotland. Each summer the harbour throws a party that draws boaters and travellers alike into its easy-going mood. Laid-back and unhurried, the town hands you the surrounding nature and the wide Baltic Sea as your backdrop.

Day 4: Riga, Latvia

As the largest city in the Baltic, Riga carries the confidence of a capital with something for every kind of traveller. Wander its cobblestone streets and Art Nouveau facades, browse dozens of museums, or slip out to the white-sand beach at nearby Jūrmala. Small wonder it's earned the title "Paris of the Baltics."

Day 5: At Sea Aboard the Norwegian Jewel

Today the Norwegian Jewel becomes your destination. Settle into an unhurried rhythm of gourmet dining, quiet deck time, and the comforts you've come to expect from a life afloat. It's your chance to recharge before Germany comes into view.

Day 6: Berlin (Warnemünde), Germany

More than two decades on from reunification, Berlin channels its energy into the pursuit of joy. Germany's capital balances cosmopolitan polish with a liberal, creative undercurrent that keeps things interesting at every turn. Landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag command attention, while the elegant Bavarian Quarter offers a quieter kind of amazement.

Day 7: Hamburg (Kiel), Germany

Founded in the 13th century and largely rebuilt after the Second World War, Kiel wears its complicated past openly. Tour the Naval Memorial and the U-995 submarine, then follow the waterfront promenade for views across the harbour and Kiel Fjord. Venture along the waterway beyond the city and you'll find picturesque villages and quiet sandy beaches.
