Itinerary:

Day 1–3: Luang Prabang

Your Laos journey begins in Luang Prabang, where a warm welcome and a private transfer to your hotel let you settle in and rest after your flight. The following day brings a genuine local highlight at the Laos Buffalo Dairy, where you'll meet the buffalo, sample artisanal cheeses, and try the farm's famous buffalo-milk ice cream, before cooling off in the turquoise pools of the Kuang Sy waterfalls. On your third day, you'll rise early for the moving Tak Bat alms ceremony, wander a lively morning market, and explore the city's oldest temples, Wat Visoun and Wat Aham, then travel by motorboat along the Mekong to the Buddha-filled Pak Ou Caves, ending with a sunset climb up Mount Phousi.

Day 4–5: Vang Vieng

Day four sees you board Laos' scenic railway to Vang Vieng, gliding through mountain tunnels that open onto green valleys and farmland, before a gentle boat trip along the Nam Song River reveals the region's remarkable karst scenery. The next morning, you'll head to the H'mong village of Ban Phathao for a walk through rice fields to the Tham Loup and Tham Hoi caves, followed by the sacred Elephant Cave and a refreshing stop at the Blue Lagoon. It's a beautifully balanced pairing of easy adventure and quiet natural beauty, at a pace entirely your own.

Day 6–7: Vientiane and departure

An express train carries you south to Vientiane, where a half-day tour introduces the capital's finest sights, from the graceful Wat Sisaket and Wat Phra Keo to the revered Pha That Luang stupa and the commanding Patuxay Arch of Triumph. On your final morning, you'll enjoy a relaxed breakfast before a private transfer to Vientiane airport for your onward flight, carrying with you the memories of a journey shaped entirely around you.
