From Times Square to the Grand Canyon - My Unforgettable 5-Week Adventure in the USA
Here are just a few of the highlights that made this trip so special:
?? New Year’s Eve in Times Square New York really is the city that never sleeps - and never more so than on New Year’s Eve. Imagine standing shoulder to shoulder with over a million people, bundled up against the cold, watching live performances by Charlie Puth, Carrie Underwood, Wiz Khalifa, and Luke Bryan, all leading up to that magical moment when the Ball drops at midnight. It was electric. Cold toes? Absolutely. Worth it? A thousand times yes.
?? Sunday Cycling in Central Park This might not make a typical bucket list, but it’s one of my favourite memories. Renting a bike and cruising through Central Park on a crisp winter morning made me feel like a local - calm, free, and completely immersed in the city’s quieter side. Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that leave the biggest mark.
?? Washington D.C. – A Change of Pace After the high-energy pace of NYC, Washington D.C. felt like a deep exhale. There’s something so grounding about the city - from the incredible Smithsonian Museums to peaceful walks around the monuments by moonlight. The Arlington Memorial moved me more than I expected, and charming Georgetown was the perfect day trip. It’s one of those cities that quietly captures your heart.
?? Viva Las Vegas! Then it was time to switch gears again - straight to the dazzling lights of Vegas. Staying on the Strip was the best decision: easy access to all the action and entertainment. The city truly comes alive at night - the Bellagio fountains, Treasure Island’s pirate show, and world-class performances at every corner. I was lucky enough to snag tickets to “O” by Cirque du Soleil - an absolute must-see. Pro tip: book early - shows sell out fast!
?? The Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam No words (or photos) do justice to that feeling of standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Yes, I was clinging to safety rails, but the sheer vastness and silence of the canyon left me in awe. We visited the West Rim on a day trip, including a stop at the Hoover Dam - both incredible feats of nature and engineering.
Whether you’re planning a business trip to New York or dreaming of a coast-to-coast family adventure, the USA has something for everyone. And if you're unsure where to start, I’d love to help you map it all out - from iconic sights to hidden gems.
After all, I’ve been there, done that... and I’ve got the stories (and travel tips) to prove it.
