My name is Ronel and I am a personal Travel Counsellor, based in the Strand – Helderberg.
I have been in the travel industry for 44 years and I specialise in both leisure and corporate travel as well as in group travel. My clients are from all over the country as well as abroad and I speak both English and Afrikaans.
My career in the travel industry started at a travel agency in Stellenbosch in 1980; thereafter I worked in the Strand as a senior travel consultant and later as Branch Manager until 2006, when I then decided to become an independent travel agent.
During the years I have done many fares courses; Galileo, BSP, IATA/UFTAA as well as extensive training on Travel Counsellors intranet & Phenix booking systems.
I joined Travel Counsellors so that I could grow my leisure and corporate business. I can offer my clients the best service with the professional backing and support from Travel Counsellors Head Office. We are a member of IATA & ASATA and we are BEE accredited. Another added benefit of booking with me is our Travel Counsellors Financial Protection plan that protects all my clients’ money against supplier defaults. We have over 2000 TCs in 6 countries which gives me access to their combined support and local knowledge and experience 24 hours a day.
My years in the travel industry have given me many travel opportunities, and I have visited countries and cities in South Africa, Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, UK & Europe, North and South America, Far East and Australia and Cruising. My Travel Highlights include… white river rafting down the Zambezi, skiing in Italy, and stepping onboard the Concorde (it was only to do an inspection visit on the ground), cruising Greece & Turkey, Phi Phi Island in Thailand, meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disney Orlando as well as SeaWorld, San Diego and many many more…
Achievements with Travel Counsellors include - Winner Best New Starter 2010 presented at Travel Counsellors South African Conference at Sun City May 2010. Achieved GOLD status in September 2011. Nominations - Best Sales 2010/11 South African Conference at The One&Only Hotel Cape Town, Best Month 2011/12 and Best TC 2011/12 at South African Conference in Mauritius and more nominations since.

Hi Ronel ?? Ons het ‘n ongelooflike, fantastiese en baie lekker tyd in Bali gehad. Bali bied beslis ietsie vir almal en die mense is baie vriendelik & behulpsaam. Ek glo Bali sal ons defnitief weer sien. ??Alles het so goed verloop, te danke aan jou??. Ons het regtig geen issues of teenspoed in enige opsig gehad nie. Dankie, dankie dankie!! Ons het baie lekker gekuier, alles het vlot verloop.
Jou reëlings was puik, (soos gewoonlik) en die mense is nogal stiptelik, wat tyd betref – as hulle se 10:50 dan is dit 10:50
Ek was ook bly dat die sundowner cruise die 2de dag was, dit sou te veel gewees het die 1ste dag.
Jy kan dit gerus vir jou mense noem dat hulle die Chobe dagrit moet oorweeg
O ja – jy kan ook vir toekomstige kliënte noem dat hulle nie US$ hoef te neem nie – die mense verkies R’e en jy kry ook ‘n beter wisselkoers op ‘n Rand as ‘n Dollar

What I appreciate most about Mrs Blom is her reactivity and honest responses regarding prices & pricing. She also respects budgets; that means we got our holiday booked and paid within 1 week; so everyone is happy.
I live in France and often travel to London. I travel to South Africa at least once every two years and combine it with a Southern Africa holiday - I mostly purchase our holidays & flights online, as both my wife and I are in the tourism & hospitality business, and know where to find either cheap deals or value for money. However I was very impressed that Ronel found us direct Virgin Atlantic flights from London Gatwick to Cape Town return for under 800 Euros!

Ronel organised all our travel documentation, travel insurance, flight tickets, and everything was 100%. She thought of the small details like airport transfers, nice hotels and she was always available for any questions and for last minute changes. Claire and I jetted off to Victoria Falls on 30 October 2017 with SA Airlink. We were met on arrival and taken to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge where we spent 1 night. It is a lovely hotel, and I recommend this for couples and families. The property has lots of stairs so not recommended for elderly clients.
