My name is Julia Barnett. I am based in in Florida Hills, Roodepoort – but living here does not mean I cannot give you the best service – wherever you are in the world.
I grew up in the Eastern Cape, I studied Travel & Tourism in Pretoria and I moved to Johannesburg to start my first job in travel in 1999. I have been in the industry for over 20 years. Working for various Tour Operators and had an unforgettable experience working for a large retail agency for over 10 years and also winning Top Wholesale Consultant for 2 years in row!
I have travelled very extensively and have visited; Zanzibar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Comores Thailand (Phuket, Bangkok and Langkawi), New York, Las Vegas, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Malaysia, Spain, Australia, Egypt, Croatia, Australia and of course have seen a lot of our beautiful country, South Africa. On my bucket list I have the Bahamas, Hawaii and South America.

We were lucky enough to be hosted at the beautiful Askari Game Lodge. The Lodge is only 1 hours drive from Johannesburg on Plumari Private Game Reserve in the Magaliesberg. If you’re looking for a relaxing bush getaway surrounded by the African wilderness, planning a unique bush wedding, or need a refreshing conference venue not far from Jo’burg or Pretoria, this is the place to be. There is a wide range of accommodation options including executive, standard and deluxe rooms which can accommodate 48 singles or 96 guests sharing. The lodge offers an array of exciting activities including Big 5 game drives, elephant touch and feed interactions, elephant walks, and hiking trails. The staff were very friendly, and the beautiful restaurant looking out onto the reserve served us a delicious three course meal.
