Some journeys set the tone before the day even begins. On a recent drive into Cape Town, I took the long way round over Chapman’s Peak and along the Atlantic seaboard Where the city arrives gradually, framed by ocean and mountain. This short video captures a few quiet moments from that approach.
The coastal road into Cape Town has a way of slowing everything down. The mountains fall away, the ocean opens up, and the city comes into
focus piece by piece rather than all at once. This drive wasn’t about documenting every kilometre. It was about noticing the shift from open coastline
to urban edge and the calm that comes with taking the longer route. Sometimes, the road itself is part of the destination.
