The Azamara® World Voyage

Departing 4th January 2024, this once-in-a-lifetime 155-night journey takes place aboard the cruise line’s newest ship, the boutique-style Azamara Onward℠ with its Sanctum Spa, sommelier-led wine tastings and Broadway-calibre entertainment.

This cruise is the most comprehensive way to experience all Seven Wonders of the World – but plenty more besides, visiting more than 40 countries across six continents and living unforgettable moments such as walking on 2,000-year-old stones at the Great Wall of China and standing in awe before the Pyramids of Giza.

Along with standard inclusions including gratuities and AzAmazing Evenings®, guests receive more $22,000 in exclusive amenities, including $7,000 onboard credit per stateroom, Business Class air travel, a pre-voyage hotel stay, transfers and access to exclusive events.

It’s possible to do one section of it, or a couple of sections together, but there’s nothing quite like a round-the-world cruise. We’ve picked out a few of our favourite legs.

Central American Tapestry

Beginning in Fort Lauderdale with its golden beaches and eclectic arts and culture, this part of the cruise takes you to Cozumel, Mexico, for glass-bottom boat tours, fishing charters and scuba diving. You’ll proceed to Puerto Limón to experience Costa Rica’s Afro-Caribbean culture together with thrilling eco-adventures.

From here you’ll sail through the Panama Canal, one of the wonders of the contemporary world, to Manta, Ecuador, with its surfing and kite-surfing, then to Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city, with its Iguana Park and pre-Columbian artifacts. You finish up in Peru, exploring the archaeological sites of Huaca de la Luna y Sol, Huaca del Dragon and Chan Chan then discovering Lima’s gastronomy and museums.

Pacific Mysteries

Sailing from Lima, you’ll spend five days unwinding at sea before reaching Easter Island, Chile with its famed moai – monolithic human figures. Then it’s on to Adamstown, capital of Pitcairn, UK, the world’s most remote island, with just 40 inhabitants, then Fakarava, French Polynesia – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with snorkelling over giant, fluorescent coral heads. Moorea is your next overnight stay; spot spinner dolphins, rough-toothed dolphins and pilot whales. The final stop is Papeete, Tahiti, to explore the ancient Polynesian temple of Arahurahu Marae.

Astounding Australia & Asia

This section starts with an overnight stay in Sydney with its hip restaurants and shops, and continues to Mooloolaba for world-class cuisine, a visit to Australia Zoo or even a quick hop to Brisbane. Your next stops are Airlie Beach in Queensland, with the Great Barrier Reef on its doorstep, then Cairns to explore Daintree Rainforest and the wildlife-rich village of Kuranda.

From Australia you’ll head to Papua New Guinea, to experience remote, biodiverse Alotau with its WWII history, and Madang with its rainforest museum and shipwrecks.

Next up is Filipino Palau, to discover Koror with its monuments, museums, eclectic shops and fashionable restaurants, then Manila with its Intramuros and the world’s largest Chinatown. This stage concludes with an overnight in thrilling Hong Kong.

Ancient Trade Routes

This journey starts in Athens, home to iconic sites including the Acropolis, and moves on to Alexandria, where you can dive to see underwater palaces, temples and monuments, then o Port Said, a short hop from the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids. Passing through the Suez Canal, you’ll overnight in Safaga, the ‘world’s greatest open air museum’.

Aqaba in Jordan is a renowned diving destination, but a late-night stay is also a chance to venture to ancient Petra. From here you sail to Israel’s Eilat to spot dolphins, relax on the beach and enjoy the dining and nightlife. After six nights at sea, you’ll reach Muscat with its souks and the world’s third-largest mosque, then ever-evolving Dubai with its modern malls and desert adventures.
