Something New from Sandals Resorts

World-renowned for its Caribbean resorts, Sandals is unique for its all-inclusive luxury romantic experience for couples. New to its portfolio are the completely revamped Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, opening in January 2022, and Sandals Royal Curaçao, scheduled to open in April 2022. Both offer the classic ingredients of the much-loved, tried-and-tested Sandals recipe while adding new elements and destination-specific features to the mix

Sandals Royal Bahamian

Blending European sophistication with offshore tropical island adventures, this iconic hotel was once a favourite of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Closed throughout the pandemic for a full remodelling, this glamorous spot now offers two vast colonnaded pools with sea views, gourmet dining in 10 speciality restaurants, and an award-winning Red Lane® Spa.

The real wow factor, however, lies in the resort’s exclusive offshore island to which guests can escape by launch, sailboat or kayak, with one relaxing beach with fantastic snorkelling and the other one with high-energy water sports, plus a chic Beach Club with a  pool, whirlpool, swim-up bar and seafood house. The island is also dotted with shaded hammocks, private cabanas, and a Zen garden with a fire-pit.

The resort’s all-new River Pool Swim-up Suites come with butler service, two pristine white-sand beaches, and exclusive VIP airport transfers in a Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Benz. Perched at the edge of a river pool, these stunning suites allow you to step right into gently flowing water from a zero-entry platform on your over-sized patio.

Also new is Coconut Grove, for daytime relaxing and night-time partying to live music and entertainment. It includes three new food trucks that add to the array of culinary options at the resort, which embrace high-end French cuisine at La Plume, a Chop House with steak and seafood, a Pan-Caribbean restaurant and a chic sushi spot.

Sandals Royal Curaçao

This property represents an expansion to a brand-new destination, the gorgeous once-Dutch island of Curaçao with its 65 spectacular dive sites. Covering 3,000 acres along the Spanish Water Bay (which guests will be able to explore by Dutch bikes), Sandals Royal Curaçao starts out life with 350 luxurious rooms and suites (and more to come in future years) and vast pools including Sandals’ first two-level infinity pool. It also comes with unrestricted access to the neighbouring 18-hole Pete Dye championship golf course (at cost) with its ocean views and two on-site marinas. It also has the island’s largest reception space, indoors and out.

Of Sandals Royal Curaçao’s nine restaurants, eight are exclusive to this resort. They include The Duchess, Sandals’ first-ever floating restaurant, and the Kanaal Café & Bar, reminiscent of the cafés that line the canals of Amsterdam. Serving made-to-order sweet treats such as stroopwafels and poffertjes, it also doubles as a cheese and wine bar. Three new beachside food trucks add to the culinary fun with traditional Curaçao fare, Spanish tapas and Asian fusion.

Guests in the Kurason Island Suites and the private-pool Awa Seaside Bungalows get complimentary use of a sporty convertible Mini Cooper to explore this captivating island. Both types of suite and the car loan are all firsts for Sandals. The Kurason Island Suites are arranged around a heart-shaped exclusive pool with its own island with palm trees and loungers.
