It's Nice To Meet You

Leisure Travel!

Words that make my heart beat faster-all of those wonderful places waiting to be discovered by you, the leisure traveller!

My love for travel started right after school, when I joined SAA, and worked there for 5 years. My first big adventure was taking a Contiki Tour through Europe with a friend of mine. This trip whet my appetite, and I soon realised that travel had to stay an integral part of my life.

I have worked for over 22 years in the travel industry, and I've travelled to many different parts of the world including the UK, various European countries, Argentina, the Far East, Turkey and The Comores. I know that choosing the right destination that suits your personality as well as your budget is of utmost importance, and I will endeavour to do just that, for you!

I have over 1700 colleagues, dotted throughout the world, who can assist me in giving you local knowledge wherever you travel to, as well as being a helping hand if you need it. However, booking through me, means that you have my assistance 24/7.

With my commitment to you, and our superb back-up support from our head offices - both locally and internationally, there'll always be someone at hand to help should you need it.

Whether you're looking for self-drive holidays, island living or adventure seeking holidays, no holiday is too big or too small for me to help you with. I also assist you with visa applications, the necessary inoculations that you might need and I can guide you with best buys from the country you are visiting, as well as giving you lots of information about that area. No need to buy travel books either, because with Phenix, a remarkable dynamic packaging system exclusive to Travel Counsellors, I can provide all the information that you might need.

I offer a very personal service, and I can meet with you whenever it suits you - whether at home, in a coffee shop, or at work.

I am looking forward to meeting you, and making your dream holiday a reality.

Best regards,

Tanya

Travel Counsellors 2012 Conference

29 May 2012

Magical Mauritius-somehow Mauritius had never appealed to me as a holiday destination, UNTIL I got the chance to visit it for a long weekend because we had our annual conference there. I've changed my mind-the beauty of the island, even the smell of the island enchanted me completely! We stayed at Beachcomber’s 5 Star Shandrani Hotel, on the all inclusive package, which also includes French Champagne from 1830, and free drinks until 2330. The choice of food for meals is very extensive, and very tasty. Vegetarians would be well accommodated here too, with lots of yummy non-meat dishes to choose from. I tried their lentils, and it was divine. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are also huge, with a lovely showerhead. There are 3 beaches to choose from-one of them with magnificent rolling waves, the other 2 calm and serene, perfect for snorkelling, glass bottom boating, turtle spotting in Blue Bay, banana boats for kids and adults alike. There are loads of activities to enjoy, but if you just want to get away from it all, find a quiet spot to relax, this hotel offers that too. The resort it family friendly, and is a a great choice for couples too. We had a cocktail party on Thursday night when we arrived at their stunning Spa area, on Friday night we had a Gala Dinner at their Le Sirius Restaurant, and on Saturday night, we had a pirate’s party on the beach, which was very well catered for, and lots of fun. Their conference room was well equipped and seating arrangements very comfortable. The feel of the hotel is one of relaxation, nothing pretentious, but all your needs are catered for. On Saturday afternoon, I had the chance to visit LUX Belle Mare, on the east coast of Mauritius. Breathtakingly beautiful. My first thought when we arrived at the LUX Belle Mare, was "perfect", and during our visit, it didn't change. From the sumptuous seafood lunch to the spacious rooms, and generous hospitality of each and every staff member we came across, the afternoon was idyllic. LUX and Island Light Holidays are part of the same group. Their LUX hotel brands offer at least 50 reasons why one should stay at their resorts -from big screen movies on the beach, to finding a hidden "message in the bottle"- if one of the guests find the "hidden" bottle, they'll be pleasantly surprised with a Spa voucher, a free bottle of wine, or other small gifts. They also have a cart that gets moved every day to a different location, with juices and cold drinks for their guests to help themselves to, as well as a "pirate’s chest”. Guests who are curious enough to open the chest will find an honesty bar, offering wines and beers, all chilled on ice. The beach was expansive, with a grassy area just above, where hammocks and bean bags are set out for their guests to kick back and read, sleep, relax. The hotel group flew in an Italian chef to teach their chefs how to make the perfect pizza, Italian ice-creams and breads. The LUX Belle Mare also has a coffee barista, who blends and grinds fresh coffee beans (imported from all over the world, including Ethiopia) for all of their hotels dotted throughout the island, including their properties on Reunion Island. My mind has done a complete 180, and I would simply love the chance to go and visit Mauritius again-in a heartbeat! If you would like more information then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

My company uses this platform for business travel, and this is how I came into contact with Tanya. I then contacted Tanya from a personal point of view, and Tanya was absolutely awesome. Through a lengthy period of wanting to arrange a holiday and changing our plans a few times, Tanya was so patient, understanding and extremely helpful throughout the process. The process was smooth, we were kept informed, and Tanya’s service was just welcoming and supportive every step of the way. I highly recommend Tanya as someone who cares about your requests, takes time to give you advice, and really makes your planning and booking process a dream!

Hi Tanya I would like to say that you rock. All our travel arrangements went like a dream. I wish that all travel agents were as proficient and professional as yourself. Mike and I were blown away that we didn’t have to struggle with pre-boarding or after, as it was my first time abroad you have made me want to keep travelling. You are my travel agent for life. Thanks Tanya for making my first trip - a dream come true. Yvette Van Eyssen

Hi Tanya Thank you for everything that you did in arranging our holiday. It was absolutely perfect in every single way and I really don't think this would have been the case if it had not have been for your expert planning. I think that it's quite a rare talent to be able to judge and interpret what people want and then arrange it for them the way you did. Thank you so much!!

Dear Tanya I would like to say a huge big thank you for your time, effort and expertise when planning our trip to Thailand. I am sure you found it a challenge dealing with myself and my nutty best friend, Sandy, when planning all the details for 6 of us. Thank you for ALL the patience. Thanks for organizing everything. Looking forward to booking more exciting trips with you. Sandy said yesterday “Let’s go to Thailand next year” so here’s hoping ?

Tanya was so friendly and efficient with my travel plans and bookings, and she really went the extra mile in sorting out my visa for Myanmar (not an easy affair, as well as being during the Christmas period!) I highly recommend her for any travel requirements. Thank you, Tanya.
