Discover the cultural wonders of the Sacred Valley while taking on the challenge of one of the world’s most iconic hikes. The four-day Inca Trail leads through a breathtaking blend of ancient ruins, majestic mountains, and misty cloud forests. As the sun rises and Machu Picchu comes into view, every step of the journey will feel undeniably worth it.

Itinerary:

DAY 1: LIMA

Feel free to arrive at any time.

DAY 2: LIMA / CUSCO

Take a flight to Cusco and spend the day exploring and shopping in the city. 

DAY 3: CUSCO/ OLLANTAYTAMBO 

Take a full-day guided tour of the Sacred Valley, starting with a visit to a women's weaving co-op supported by G Adventures, followed by a stop at a local pottery-making community. Enjoy lunch at the Parwa Community Restaurant in Huchuy Qosco, also supported by G-Adventures. Afterwards, choose between a hike to the Ollantaytambo storehouses for stunning views of the ruins or spend time exploring the cobblestone streets and visiting a local Chicheria, a traditional corn beer bar.

DAY 4: INCA TRAIL

Travel by van from Ollantaytambo to km 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail. Begin your journey with a gentle hike, following winding streams through breathtaking Andean landscapes and passing by ancient Incan ruins along the way.

Exclusive Inclusions: Enjoy handmade biodegradable soap products made by local Cusqueña women, empowered to start their own business in order to reduce the environmental impact of treks in the region.

DAY 5: INCA TRAIL

Begin the day with an early ascent up the steep trail to Warmiwañusca, also known as Dead Woman's Pass, the trek's highest point at 4,198m (13,769 ft). Hikers typically reach the camp by early afternoon, allowing plenty of time to rest and unwind.

DAY 6: INCA TRAIL

Today's trek takes you across two more mountain passes and past ancient ruins. The first pass, Runquraqay, sits at 3,950m (13,113 ft), where clear weather offers views of the snow-covered Cordillera Vilcabamba. Continue through the cloud forest on a gradual ascent to the second pass, walking amidst original Incan structures. The highest point is 3,700m (12,136 ft), offering stunning views of the Urubamba Valley on clear days. At 3,650m (11,972 ft), arrive at the Phuyupatamarca ruins, known as the "town above the clouds." Camp here or continue for another 1.5 hours to the Wiñay Wayna ruins, meaning "forever young," located at 2,650m (8,694 ft).

DAY 7: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

The last day of the hike begins before dawn to reach the Sun Gate in time for sunrise. On a clear day, this offers the first stunning views of the Machu Picchu ruins. Afterwards, hike down for a guided tour of the ancient site before catching the train back to Cusco.

DAY 8: CUSCO 

After breakfast, you are free to depart at any time.
