Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Touch down in Kilimanjaro after your flight from Johannesburg, where your adventure in Tanzania begins. After clearing customs, you'll be met for a private transfer to the Serena Arusha Hotel & Spa. Take the evening to unwind, enjoy a delicious dinner, and recharge for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Arusha
On your second day, you’ll set off in your private 4x4 safari vehicle, journeying to the enchanting Lake Manyara National Park. Famed for its diverse landscapes and remarkable wildlife, this park reveals emerald forests, shimmering lakes and striking escarpments. Keep an eye out for the legendary tree-climbing lions and dazzling flocks of pink flamingos that make this area so distinctive. After an afternoon of wildlife encounters and scenic vistas, you’ll retreat to a thoughtfully selected lodge close to the park, where you’ll be treated to lunch, dinner and breakfast, ensuring you’re well-fuelled for each day’s adventure.
Days 3-5: Serengeti National Park
The highlight of your safari awaits as you enter the iconic Serengeti National Park, timed to coincide with the spectacle of the Great Migration. Here, you’ll witness extraordinary gatherings of wildebeest and zebra as the massed herds surge towards the central Serengeti, painting the plains with movement and energy. These three days are dedicated to tracking the migration, offering front-row seats to nature’s greatest show as predators and prey interact dramatically. Your experienced driver-guide knows all the best vantage points, ensuring you don’t miss a single unforgettable moment - from thunderous river crossings to moments of peaceful grazing under the acacia trees. Each evening, retreat to your lodge located in the very heart of the action, where you can share stories over dinner and rest up for the next day’s remarkable sightings.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
Your journey continues to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its natural beauty and extraordinary wildlife. Often described as the "eighth wonder of the world," the crater is a haven for an incredible variety of animals, including the rare black rhinoceros. The day is devoted to exploring this unique ecosystem and marvelling at the dramatic scenery within the crater walls. In the evening, you’ll retire to a charming lodge perched on the rim, where stunning views are matched by the comfort and hospitality.
