Itinerary
Day 1: Regensburg
Begin your journey in Regensburg, a beautifully preserved medieval city along the Danube River. Take a stroll through its cobbled streets, admire the Gothic cathedral, and explore the charming Old Town filled with cafés and boutiques. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner on board as the ship prepares to sail.
Day 2: Regensburg to Straubing
Spend the morning soaking up more of Regensburg’s rich history before setting sail at midday. As you cruise along the Danube, take in scenic river views and rolling countryside. Arrive in Straubing in the late afternoon, a town known for its welcoming Bavarian atmosphere and historic town square.
Day 3: Straubing to Passau
Wake up to the calm waters of the Danube as the ship departs Straubing early in the morning. By midday, you’ll reach Passau, where the rivers Danube, Inn, and Ilz meet. Explore the baroque architecture, visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral, or take a walk along the riverside before the evening departure.
Day 4: Linz on the Danube
Arrive early in Linz, Austria’s vibrant third-largest city. Take time to explore its beautiful Old Town, admire the grand Hauptplatz square, or visit the modern art museums along the river. In the evening, enjoy local cuisine and music as you relax on board.
Day 5: Linz to Melk
Depart Linz shortly after midnight and continue your scenic journey through the Wachau Valley. By morning, you’ll arrive in Melk, home to the stunning Melk Abbey, perched high above the river. Spend the day exploring the abbey and its gardens before returning to the ship for an afternoon departure.
Day 6: Bratislava
Sail into Slovakia’s capital just after midnight and enjoy a full day to explore. Wander through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, visit Bratislava Castle for sweeping river views, or stop by one of the city’s cosy cafés. The ship remains docked overnight, giving you plenty of time to experience the local charm.
Day 7: Vienna
Arrive in Vienna, a city filled with imperial grandeur and timeless elegance. Visit landmarks like Schönbrunn Palace or St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and take in the music, art, and café culture that define Austria’s capital. Spend your final evening exploring or enjoying a classical concert.
Day 8: Vienna
Disembark in Vienna after breakfast, taking with you memories of a journey through some of Europe’s most picturesque river cities. You may wish to extend your stay to experience more of Vienna’s cultural treasures. Your river cruise adventure along the Danube comes to a perfect close.
