This 13-day tour of Italy showcases some of the country's most iconic and captivating destinations. The journey includes visits to Rome, Cassino, Pompeii, Sorrento, the Isle of Capri, Assisi, Verona, Venice, Milan, Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Pisa, Florence, and San Gimignano.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Rome (2 Nights)

Upon arrival in Rome, the day is free for independent exploration. An evening orientation drive provides an introduction to the city's famous landmarks.

Day 2: Rome Sightseeing

The day begins with a guided sightseeing tour of the Vatican Museums, including Bramante's staircase, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. The tour continues into Ancient Rome with a visit to the Colosseum and a view of the Circus Maximus. The afternoon is at leisure for independent activities.

Day 3: Rome – Cassino – Pompeii – Sorrento (2 Nights)

The itinerary proceeds to the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Cassino. A viewing of the Benedictine Abbey, site of the 1944 Battle of Monte Cassino, follows. The journey continues south to the archaeological site of Pompeii for a guided tour of the ruins. The day concludes in Sorrento, with dinner included at the hotel.

Day 4: Isle of Capri Excursion

A ferry crossing from the Bay of Naples leads to the Isle of Capri. A guided tour of Capri Town is provided, followed by free time for independent exploration. Upon returning to the mainland, there will be a demonstration of Sorrento's traditional inlaid woodwork.

Day 5: Sorrento – Assisi

Travel north to the medieval town of Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis. A guided walking tour explores the cobblestone streets and includes a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis. The remainder of the day is free to explore sites such as the church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva and San Rufino Cathedral. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Day 6: Assisi – Verona – Venice (2 Nights)

The journey continues through the Emilia-Romagna region to Verona, with stops to see Juliet's Balcony and the Roman arena. The day ends with arrival in Venice.

Day 7: Venice Orientation

A private launch navigates Venice's canals, leading to the island of Giudecca for a traditional glassblowing demonstration. The orientation proceeds to St. Mark's Square to view the Basilica, the Doge's Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs. The afternoon is free for independent exploration.

Day 8: Venice – Milan – Lake Maggiore (2 Nights)

Travel across Lombardy to Milan for an orientation tour that includes views of the Gothic Duomo, La Scala Opera House, and the Galleria. The day concludes at Lake Maggiore, where dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 9: Lake Como Excursion

The day is dedicated to an excursion to Lake Como, with free time to explore the lakeside towns and scenery. In the evening, a private boat transports guests to an island on Lake Maggiore for a special dinner experience.

Day 10: Pisa – Florence (2 Nights)

The route crosses the Apennine Mountains towards Tuscany, stopping in Pisa to view the Leaning Tower in the Square of Miracles. The journey then continues to Florence, with the evening at leisure.

Day 11: Florence Sightseeing

A guided tour of Florence explores the city's art and architecture, including the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. A visit to Piazzale Michelangelo offers panoramic views of the city and the Ponte Vecchio. The tour also includes demonstrations of Florentine leathercraft and gold. The afternoon is free for independent activities.

Day 12: Florence – San Gimignano – Rome

The morning features a visit to the Tuscan hill town of San Gimignano to see its medieval architecture, Piazza del Duomo, and 13th-century city walls. The tour then returns to Rome for a farewell dinner.

Day 13: Depart Rome
The tour comes to an end. Transfers are available to Rome Fiumicino Airport.
