Your stay at Makumu Game Lodge will take you to the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Did you know that in the Xitsonga language, the word “Makumu” refers to an intangible explanation of an open space, an uncluttered lookout over distant horizons, or an endless view.

The breath-taking views and location of the Makumu Game Lodge compliment a deeply inspiring sense of space and place, leaving guest feel rejuvenated with the ancient spirit of African wilderness.

The ‘Big Five’ Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is one of the largest privately owned nature reserves in South Africa. It covers some 60,000 hectares and forms part of the greater Kruger National Park. Makumu Private Game Lodge is an intimate oasis in this vast wilderness, surrounded by the harshness, unpredictability and unspoiled appeal of the African bushveld.

Six luxurious and beautifully appointed suites accommodate a maximum of twelve guests. This ensures an exclusive blend of absolute comfort, style and privacy.? Of the six suites, three are King Suites and three are Impi Suites. Each set of a King and an Impi Suite is designed according to one of three African tribes – the Bushman, Ndebele and Zulu tribes of South Africa.
