Seven Things For Families To See And Do In Dubai

02 January 2018

Choose Dubai for your family holiday and find plenty of fantastic attractions from beaches to malls and theme parks that your kids will love. Here’s seven things for families to see and do in Dubai…

  1. Seek thrills at IMG Worlds of Adventure

You’re in for a day of adrenaline-inducing thrills if you take your youngsters to the world’s largest indoor theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventure. It has four zones for you to explore, each with unique rides and attractions. A highlight is the daunting ‘Velociraptor’ in the ‘Lost Valley’ zone where you’ll zoom through a jungle landscape into the desert in 2.5 seconds. You can also enjoy immersive experiences at the 100-seater 3D ‘Hulk Epsilon’ rollercoaster in the ‘Marvel’ zone and stroll through a chilling maze in the ‘IMG Boulevard’ zone’s ‘Haunted House’, giving your family hours of fun!

  1. Relax on pristine beaches

#StaySunny this winter with a family outing to the Emirate’s pristine beaches. Jumeirah Beach is fun central with banana boating and camel rides, as well as the world’s largest inflatable water park, while you can enjoy water sports like snorkelling and paddle boarding at Kite Beach. Relax after soaking up the sun by retiring to one of Dubai’s family beach clubs like the Riva Beach Club at Palm Jumeriah. Here you’ll find an outdoor play area, a kids’ pool and a top Italian family restaurant!

  1. Play at Legoland

It’s impossible not to have fun at Legoland Dubai, as there’s so many thrills to be found. Go behind the scenes and see how these iconic toys are created at the ‘Factory’, steer a boat in ‘Lego City’, build Lego cars and robotics at the ‘Imagination’ zone, embark on family quests though the King’s Castle in the ‘Kingdoms’ area and play with 20 million Lego bricks in ‘Miniland’. Legoland also has its own water park where you can cool off; zoom down its exciting water slides, float down the lazy river on a Lego raft, delve into the unknown with a splash safari and take on the ‘Joker Soaker’!

  1. Take a trip to Dubai Mall

You could fill an entire holiday with a trip to Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest malls. Of course, you’ll find great shopping here with everything from fashion and gadgets, to gifts and furnishings available but there’s so much more. Glide across the Mall’s ice rink, give your children the chance to enjoy role playing adventures at the KidZania zone, become pilots by having a go on the cutting-edge Emirates A380 Experience flight simulator or take a trip back to the Jurassic period at Dubai Dino. You can also walk under a transparent underwater tunnel as sharks and rays swim above you!

  1. Enjoy Family dining

Dining options to suit every taste await in this foodie hotspot. A favourite with many families is the Mazina restaurant on Dubai Marina, with its Saturday family brunches, face-painting, live cooking demonstrations and bouncy castle. Savour global brunches at the Beachcombers restaurant where everything from pan-Asian cuisine to seafood is available. Enjoy rustic dining at the Last Exit Street Food Park which serves treats like pizzas, gelato and burgers, while adults can taste rich coffees at joints like Seven Fortunes in Al Quoz, known for serving blends like Ethiopian Aricha coffee.

  1. Race around the track

Give your kids a run for their money by racing them around the go karting tracks of Dubai. A popular place is the Dubai Kartdrome near the marina, which has indoor and outdoor circuits and karts powered by impressive Honda engines, as well as laser tag facilities. You could also visit the Emirates Kart Zone up the coast where you’ll find Grand Prix-esque activities and a Formula 1-style circuit. There’s also Jebel Ali Go Karting, which has an 880-metre track and a pit lane where you can watch all the action!

  1. See standout attractions

Dubai is filled with various other must-see attractions that’ll make spectacular backdrops for your family holiday snaps. Gaze in wonder at architectural marvel the Burj Khalifa, see the Emirate’s vast sandy landscapes with a Desert Safari Tour, bullet down the near-vertical ‘Poseidon’s Revenge’ slide at Atlantis’ Aquaventure Waterpark and much more. Get up to 65% savings on admissions to the Emirate’s top attractions with Dubai Tourism’s DSF Pass, giving you wonderful family getaways!
