Social media is another fantastic source of inspiration and Pinterest is unquestionably one of the best. Download the Pinterest app and create a board for each of your five must-see places. You can then pin pictures of what you want to see when you eventually get there and what you will do during your visit. In between working from home, change things up by studying a new language. It could come in handy when you finally visit one of your chosen destinations. YouTube is packed with clips that can instil the basics of most languages so you’ll be speaking like the locals in no time.

There are a countless number of travel blogs out there, from backpacking newbies to well-founded websites, ripe with travel tips and wanderlust-fuelling articles. Compile a list of the sites that pique your interest.
