Carnival is the cruise line which knows how to have fun! Carnival sails all around the world, docking in bucket list destinations like Cuba, Hawaii and Australia. Enjoy tasty meals when travelling with Carnival, as their ships are home to family-friendly restaurants including Guy’s Burger Joint, where succulent snacks await and the pool deck-based Blue lguana Cantina, which serves delicious treats like pork tacos and burritos. Carnival ships also include various exciting amenities including pools, onboard build a bear workshops, ‘Alchemy’ mixology hangouts and top-class entertainment.
You’ll find all this and more on the Carnival Horizon when it debuts in 2018. Like its sister ship, the Carnival Vista, the Horizon will boast an immersive IMAX cinema and a ‘Skyride’ experience in its Sportsquare, allowing you to leisurely cycle high above your vessel via a suspended two-lane bike course. Carnival are also planning to introduce new dining options for the Horizon. This includes an exclusive Bonsai Teppanyaki experience with its live cooking demonstrations and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse/Brewhouse serving a variety of smoked meats, BBQ treats and craft beers.
A selection of comfortable, modern rooms and suites will be available on Carnival’s latest ship. The Horizon’s accommodations are elegantly designed with contemporary fittings and brightly-patterned soft furnishings, while some come with expansive sea views. You can book Family Harbour rooms and suites onboard the Carnival Horizon. Boasting unique nautical décor, these welcoming rooms and suites are spacious and provide various amenities including an exclusive spot where you can enjoy family breakfasts, concierge service and fun activities like Hasbro board games.
The Carnival Horizon’s crowning glory will be its Dr. Seuss-themed water park. Influenced heavily by this children’s author, the water park will feature wacky slides like the white and red-striped ‘Cat’s Hat’ which goes in a loop-d-loop; and the topsy turvy ‘Fun Things’ slide. The park will also have water-spray toys, racing slides and characters from his books, so there’s plenty of thrills and spills to be found. Other child-centric amenities onboard will include the Camp’s Ocean kid’s club with its host of fun activities and the Cherry on Top sweet shop which comes with an ice cream station.
While the kids play, retreat to a peaceful oasis on the Carnival Horizon. The ship will be home to a ‘Serenity Adults Only Retreat’, where you can soak up the sun on comfortable loungers as the gentle sea breeze blows around you. This area will host a chopped salad station, so you can indulge in healthy yet delicious meals. There will also be a Cloud 9 Spa onboard where you can unwind with massages, facials and body wraps or while away time in specially-designed thermal suites!
Your first chance to experience the Carnival Horizon will come next year, when the vessel embarks on its maiden voyages. It will sail on a range of Caribbean cruises, stopping at idyllic destinations such as scuba diving hot spot Cozumel, colonial architectural gem San Juan and beach paradise Aruba. The Carnival Horizon will offer a range of Bermuda journeys as well next year, allowing you to enjoy this picturesque island’s mysterious underground caves, prize beaches and historic forts.
For something closer to home, sign up to a European cruise on the Carnival Horizon in 2018. Departing from Barcelona, a popular tourist destination with ornate Gaudi architecture, lush green spaces, the bustling ‘Las Ramblas’ shopping district and the Camp Nou football ground, sail to some of Europe’s most intriguing locations.
