Gemma: In 2014 my husband and I decided to tie the knot after twelve years of being together. After a city break in 2006 to Rome we decided Italy would be a perfect location and we needed help to make this happen. We chose Travel Counsellors and were introduced to Donna Waddington who looked after us throughout. Her enthusiasm was infectious and she was so genuinely excited for us.
Her professionalism helped us manage our expectations realistically and after a short consultation we decided on a location and venue. We went for Villa del Sogno in Gardone, Lake Garda. Donna explained what documentation we would need to get married and organised a wedding planner Debbie, in resort, who really made us feel at ease when we got there. One of the benefits of a wedding abroad apart from the weather of course is having an intimate ceremony with family and close friends. The drawback, you would assume is arranging for the guests to come with you! Fortunately Donna helped with all of this and found hotels close to venue to suite all budgets.
Everyone knows that it is the little things that can make all the difference when planning your special day so as we wanted a classic Fiat 500 as our wedding car we were overjoyed when Donna made this happen. We stayed another week in Italy for our honeymoon visiting Florence and Venice with all our travels pre-arranged. We would recommend getting married abroad to anybody thinking of doing it, especially with a trust worthy company like Travel Counsellors to help organise it. We enjoyed our wedding so much and now have a future anniversary venue with lots of great memories. Thanks Donna and the whole team at Travel Counsellors. Gemma and Andy Palmer
