MSC Cruise Lines

I work with a wonderful travel franchise company and we had our annual conference onboard the MSC Sinfonia cruise to Mozambique in March 2018 for 3 nights.

I LOVE cruising, and this was my 4th cruise but it has been 17 years since my last cruise, so it was definitely time to cruise again.

We cruised from Durban to the Portuguese Island just off Maputo in Mozambique. MSC has created a lovely beach area with a great set up for you to enjoy the day and the warm waters.

Travel Counsellors had organized a Survivor Game challenge for us whilst we were on the island. It was loads of fun, loads of sun and loads of sand. A great time had by all. After this challenge we go to relax on the Island on the PillaBeach where we had a beach chair and sun umbrella and access to a private bar.

I love that on a cruise you only unpack once, but still get to see different places, have fun, enjoy shows and relax.

The food was delicious, with so many choices and I love Italian cuisine and of course you eat too much. You can work it off in the gym, searching for your cabin or even better dancing the night away under the stars.

Our cruise happened to be the “Sokkie” themed cruise so the big names in Afrikaans music were on board. People like Kurt Darren, The Campbells and Nadine to mention just a few.

Now don’t get me wrong we worked hard on-board between supplier pow wows and a full day with our head office telling us all the exciting things coming up, but we also had fun.

If you like your cocktails I am going to suggest that you take a drinks package, it will be worth it. Don’t worry about them watering down the cocktails, man they were strong! Even the seasoned drinkers commented on their strength, so you can just imagine what they would have done to me. I used most of my drink vouchers on water and good cappuccinos.

If you are looking to try a cruise for the first time this is the perfect way to do it. You don’t have to fly across to the other side of the world. You can drive or fly to Durban and hop on a 3-night cruise to get the experience.

In November 2018, the MSC Musica arrives in the South African waters and it is the first of their ecologically designed cruise ships so it is going to get even better. Contact me to find out all about it on margot.speed@travelcounsellors.co.za or 084 643 5379.
