Antigua Island Stay

Margot Speed on 04 June 2019
I was blessed to win an incentive trip to Antigua with Travel Counsellors and I travelled there in May 2019.

Lets start off by saying that my happy place is to be in warm turquoise waters, and it was amazing!

Antigua & Barbuda is located in the Caribbean so the climate is amazing and it is the island with the least rainfall in the area, so this is a good place to visit most of the year. Here, most things are priced in US Dollars and the people that I met were all so welcoming and friendly.

I got to experience a full day jeep tour, Shirley Heights view, kayaking in the mangroves and the snorkelling was my favorite day by far. The catamaran trip was also amazing, and I loved the snorkelling from the catamaran. They are excellent when it comes to your safety whilst snorkelling.

I enjoyed a fabulous lunch stop at Dennis Beach Bar & Restaurant, which offered stunning views and great live music. On Sunday it was time for the Shirley Heights Lookout Party with reggae music on steel drums, a barbecue with a spectacular sunset followed by a local band. I will not mention the rum punch!

I got to stay in amazing hotels and to enjoy fabulous experiences, I can chat for hours about this trip, so I will just give a bit of information and you are welcome to contact me to discuss in detail on margot.speed@travelcounsellors.co.za or 084 643 5379.

I stayed at Hodges Bay By Elegant Hotels which was 5 Star for 4 nights, Curtain Bluff which is 4 Star for 2 nights and one night at Carlisle Bay which is 5 Star. All were lovely hotels and I enjoyed my stays.

On one of the days we did site inspections of Inn at Old English Harbour, Sandals Antigua and Nonsuchbay Resort and Blue Waters each of which will suits a specific type of traveller. Allow me the opportunity to recommend for you what will suite you best.

It is a lovely island and I am so pleased that I had to opportunity to visit it.
