Ready, Steady, ACTION! Dubai, get up and go!

Ready – time to fly: When heading off to Dubai, the best choice of airline is definitely Emirates Airlines. It is spectacular in every way; the inflight entertainment is one of the best that I have experienced. It offers non-stop movies, series, music and games – all on demand and you can watch it as you wish. It made me wish that my flight was longer. When it comes to airline seats, I am a little taller than the average passenger, and yet, I was comfortable, without my knees knocking into the back of the passenger’s seat in front of me. The food and drinks on board are plentiful and enjoyable. Steady – feet on the ground, where to stay: When asked, “What is your favourite hotel in Dubai?” It is hard to name just one. I have a list now of various hotels, and taking into account; budget, location and facilities, there is a hotel for everyone. It can be daunting choosing the right hotel, be sure to give me as much information about your needs and wants in a hotel, so that I can get the best suited hotel for your requirements I fell in love with the JW Marriott Marquis. I was blown away by the rooms, facilities, food, staff and the fact that it is the highest hotel in the world! 72 floors of hotel and this x2! The two towers billow into the atmosphere and give spectacular views. A must do, is the Vault Bar on the 72 floor. Enjoy drinks while overlooking Dubai! Action! – What to do As for the action, Dubai is packed with options for the super adventurous traveller to the “been there, done that” tourist. A Desert Safari and Camel riding, is a favourite option with most Dubai visitors, and is a great way to experience the natural side of Dubai. And then, the best way to experience the man-made side of Dubai, is a trip up the Burj Khalifa, at 163 floors, it is the World’s Tallest building. Imagine it - Dubai either has it, or is busy creating it (sneak - inside info, I got a sneak view of the World’s biggest “Eye” being built – like the London Eye, but it is being built on its own island and it is going to be huge!) This will definitely be on my to-do list, on my next visit. Put aside at least 4 days for adventure – you will not be sorry. Aquaventure at the Atlantis the Palms, will keep you busy for a day. High water slides await, as do dolphin encounters and underwater walks. Sky-diving onto Jumeirah Beach is increasingly popular, and gives you a great chance to view the coastline of this magnificent city. The beach hotels along Jumeriah, like the Le Royal Meridien Resort and Spa, offer wonderful water sports from the hotels beach. You can water-ski, Banana boat, snorkel and tube. A great way to see the old part of Dubai at night, with all its lights, sounds and smells, is on-board a Dhow River Cruise. It is a very traditional and a great way to relax after a full day of adrenaline. If you feel you have had enough adventure then dive into the shops. The shopping centres are a maze of tempting worldwide goodies. You will not be lost for choice. A really easy, affordable and fun way to get around Dubai is with Dubai Metro. Forget traffic jams and head on over to the Metro. This is built above the streets of Dubai, and trains are very frequent and fast. They buzz from the Airport to Jumeriah and are super quick & super cheap. There are stops at the major tourist attractions and malls. It is definitely worth trying. Dubai is calling, answer and be wowed!
