Mediterranean Cruising

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to join a 7 night cruise on the Mediterranean. Royal Caribbean offers world class cruise liners for you to enjoy. The Navigator of the Seas began and ended its journey in Civitavecchia - the port of Rome. This 7 night cruise took us on a journey to Genoa, Ville France, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Cagliari – Sardinia. What a wonderful experience it is to depart from a port onboard a luxury cruise liner! Live musicians, magicians, dancers and island style cocktails were enjoyed around the pool! We sailed the night away and in the morning we woke up in the port in Genoa! The morning was spent exploring Genoa, and in the afternoon, we headed back to the Cruise liner for an evening of entertainment (first class ice skaters in a wonderful show), and we enjoyed a three course dinner in the magnificent dining room. After a long, adventurous day, it was great to be able to walk back to your stateroom, and to fall asleep, knowing that in the morning a new Country / City and adventure was awaiting for me to explore! Ville France lived up to its high expectations. This is the port for Nice, Eze, Monaco and Monte Carlo, and Cannes. All are located relatively close to the port, so you can easily get to experience the true French Riviera! The historical buildings, cobbled streets and famous landmarks, will have you planning another vacation! Back on the boat, we sailed away and headed for Barcelona. But there was still an evening packed with entertainment! The Captain Reception was held on the Royal Promenade – the shopping and entertainment centre on the cruise liner. After that, a wonderful 60’s style Mardi Gras started on the Promenade, with live performers and entertainers. We docked in Barcelona in the morning, for a full 12 hours. What a treat, as there is so much to do and see in Barcelona. Be sure to pack in comfortable walking shoes, and be sure to discover all the art work of Gaudi! The next two stops were Palma de Mallorca and Cagliari. Both of these are beautiful islands with magnificent beaches. A day spent on each, gave me a very good idea of where the perfect European beach breaks should be spent. We then spent a day at sea. This was great, as the rest of the cruise had been so action packed, and it was now time to explore the wonderful cruise liner. With its rock climbing wall, mini golf course, basketball court, swimming pools, Jacuzzi’s, gym, spa, theatre, library, shops, casino and endless restaurants and bars, the day was very full! We docked at Civitavecchia early and disembarked at about 7am. This allowed a full day of touring Rome and I saw the sights of the Vatican, Parthenon, Coliseum, Tivoli Fountains and so much more. I would definitely recommend Cruising as a vacation for all age groups. There are many choices when it comes to choosing the right cruise liner and itinerary for you. Give me a call, I would love to find the right one for you, and let you set sail on a holiday of a lifetime!
