The lodge has nine rooms and is a self-contained cottage located high up on the dunes overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean. It is surrounded by a 600-hectare pristine fynbos reserve. The estate boasts plains with game like the eland, zebra, bushbuck and waterbuck so there is plenty to see in all directions.

Guests can immerse themselves in scenery to refresh their mind and soul. Sedgefield has a tortoise as its emblem, and this is a reminder to all visitors of the joy of ‘slow travel’. Guests are encouraged to meander along the nature trails, to lie and watch the clouds or to sit with binoculars and to enjoy a picnic or sundowners overlooking Gerickes Point. When you feel a little more active then ride a mountain bike and you can ride through a variety of off-road trails.

Located in the area, close to Simbavati Fynbos on Sea, guests can discover lovely fossil dunes and beaches, kayak on the Swartvlei and Sedgefield lagoons and visit the neighbouring protea farm. In summer snorkelling in the rockpools (when it is low tide) can be an absolute treat. If you are still looking for more excitement - then you can consider advanced paragliding, which is popular in the area. Watch the sunrises and enjoy the romantic sunsets and this will help make your stay a memorable one.
