It's Nice To Meet You

I call myself a passionate travel junkie! After having spent over 40 years in the travel industry, who can blame me?

I started my travel career in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth, doing the basics of a junior, like writing out hotel/car hire vouchers and air tickets, typing out itineraries in triplicate. My, how times have changed!

I attended several SAA fares courses in Port Elizabeth and East London and received certificates for Fares 1,2 and 3. In my early years of travel, we used a booking system called SAAFARI. I worked in SAAFARI for a couple of months and then attended a Galileo course and received my certificate and worked on Galileo for over 30 years.

After I got married, I moved up to Johannesburg where I spent most of my travel career – based at SABMiller in Braamfontein at an in-house office, for a total of 16 years.

After several years in Johannesburg and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, I now find myself in the quaint little town of Ficksburg in the Free State, known for it’s Cherry Festivals. Ficksburg is also not too far from the Lesotho border.

I have always prided myself on the service I offer my clients. I have always treated my clients with respect and given them great service so they always come back for more!

Having travelled to some amazing destinations like New Zealand, Australia, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Reunion and the UK to name but a few, I can advise my clients where to travel to, based on my experiences. My favourite place that I have visited is Reunion. What a destination for the adrenalin traveller!

I hope that I can make your dreams come true by tailor-making that special holiday for you and your family.

Looking forward to working with you in the future

Back to the office or not?

01 April 2021

The way the world works was already evolving before Covid-19 disrupted life so dramatically. But over the past year, change has accelerated exponentially to meet the radically changed circumstances – and central to the change has been location: all who can work remotely have been doing so. And it has led many to question whether they need to return to the office as life begins to return to “normal”. We have seen people heading out of cities to smaller towns on the periphery or even further away, where a slower, safer lifestyle for the family has become more important than access to an office. It is too early to tell just how popular the drift to smaller towns will become. But we do know that things are unlikely to ever return to what was considered “normal”. Perhaps this could lead you to becoming a 'digital nomad' and working from another location whilst on a working holiday. Please get in touch if you are keen to work from anywhere all the while exploring a new town.

Reunion Island

14 April 2021

Reunion! A rare jewel located in the Indian Ocean! Reunion is known for its volcanic rainforested interior, coral reefs and beaches. This small island has so much to offer the traveller, which hosts the most magnificent scenic views. If you're adventurous, a hike inside an old lava flow of the Piton de la Fournaise is a must! To see Reunion at its best, a helicopter excursion is a must! Just awesome! A trip to Cilaos is a must - but be warned if you suffer from car sickness - the road has 400 hairpin bends, but has the most awesome scenery en-route! Reunion is also known for its Creole cuisine. Besides this, there is a variety of food to choose from. If you're planning a trip to Reunion, make sure you pack your sunblock as well as a jacket if you travel up in the mountains. Speak to me for more ideas on what you can do and where best to stay on this island paradise.
