which are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful celestial displays

Day 2: Golden Circle
Itinerary: Golden Circle

After breakfast we will meet with our tour guide and leave Reykjavik
First on the program is to enjoy the famous Golden Circle, without a
doubt Iceland’s most famous attractions.

The tour starts with a stop in Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site listing and the birthplace of the oldest existing
parliament in the world. This is also where the gigantic tectonic plates of America and Eurasia have pulled apart. The next stop is at Geysir Hot Springs, the home of the one-and-only original geyser and Iceland’s most iconic natural attraction. Here the ground trembles and steaming hot water spouts spectacularly skywards from the famous Strokkur Geyser every few minutes. Now for a leisurely walk down to Gullfoss Waterfall. Here a powerful
glacial river cascades down 32 meters on two levels and into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar.

Day 3: South Shore & Glacier Hike
Itinerary: South Shore
After breakfast it‘s time to explore the South part of Iceland. Iceland‘s South Coast is considered one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Sights today include Seljalandsfoss Waterfall – weather permitting you can walk behind the waterfall on the path – Skógafoss Waterfall, Reynisfjara Black Sandy Beach and the town of Vík. A highlight for today is your activity, a Glacier Hike on Sólheimajökull Glacier. We equip you with crampons, helmets and axes before starting the hike. It is a beautiful and unforgettable experience to walk on an Iceland Glacier, covered in ash from volcanic eruptions. After an eventful day, check in to your hotel in Skaftafell area. The location of the hotel prevents light polution so if the Northern Lights are out, you‘re likely to see them shining brightly. In case the Northern Lights shine in the middle of the night while you sleep, sign up for the hotel‘s wake up call, ensuring you won‘t sleep through them!

Day 4: Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach

Today it’s time to witness the mighty Vatnajökull Glacier. Vatnajökull
is the largest glacier in Europe, and covers more than 8% of the
country. We will go to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon to see the floating Icebergs in Iceland’s deepest lagoon and if lucky see some of the seals that live there. After, we cross the road to see Diamond Beach, which gets its name from the clear icebergs that have stranded on the black sandy beach – a truly unique experience. If weather permits, we’ll stop at Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon before returning to our accommodation. Another night in a countryside hotel, another chance to hopefully witness the Northern Lights
