Luxury tented camp Hemel-en-Aarde valley
2 Nights self-drive from R6,900 per adult
HEMEL-EN-AARDE VALLEY, HERMANUS
Hemel-en-Aarde translates as ‘Heaven on Earth,’ and the summer location in this breath-taking, fertile wine valley is just that. The site in the valley is situated in a pine forest, giving shade from sun and wind.
A farm dam offers ample opportunity to cool off on hot summer days, and the neighbouring farms host world-class wine tasting. Onrus Beach is a short drive away for those seeking a beach/bush experience. Other activities include stargazing, professional guided walks, healing therapists, beer and bread making, protea flower crafts, and honey collection/bottling.
ACCOMMODATION
The luxury tents, constructed entirely of canvas, provide a more elegant outdoor experience for the outdoor enthusiast who don’t want to part with their comforts and daily indulgences.
The intimate living area is roomy, centred by a King-sized bed and handcrafted furniture, complete with rugs and freestanding lamps. Each tent boasts an unhindered flow from the sleeping area to the en-suite bathroom.
At the rear of the tent is the bathroom with hot and cold running water, a rain shower, and a flushing loo.
Outside the tent, armchairs provide a comfortable perch from which to watch nature unfold. By day, guests can choose from our activities menu and by night there’ll be storytelling around the campfire and star gazing into ink-black skies.
TENT INTERIOR
With the use of high-end quality bedding, furnishings, linen and accessories, Canvas Collective Africa has created a unique luxury experience, comparable to that of a boutique hotel. Guest comfort is their top priority and a truly luxurious camping experience awaits, from the king size bed with high thread count Egyptian cotton linen, to the fabric drapes, custom made mosquito net, standing fan, drinks trolley and the soft rugs underfoot. The towels and gowns are 100% cotton. Where possible, local artisans have been supported including the Cape Society of the Blind where the hand woven light fittings were sourced. Emphasis has been placed on using eco-friendly and sustainable materials such as glass, bamboo and timber, and the ecofriendly toiletry range was selected to minimise any environmental impact.
