Porto has a picturesque location on a steep hillside above the River Douro. Visit some of the city’s most striking monuments including the opulent 19th-century Stock Exchange. A holiday to Porto and the Douro Region will get you well acquainted with the wine production of this area.

Day 1:
Arrival sy Oporto Airport. Check-in to your accomomdation in Oporto (or nearby, depending on your preference and availability).

Day 2:
Breakfast at the hotel. Our suggestions for this day:
* Start the day with a nice walk through the beautiful “Zona Ribeirinha” (downtown river promenade) and cross the Don Luis Bridge to Gaia, where you have the major Oporto wine cellars - do a wine tasting at one of them, for example “Taylors.”

* Enjoy lunch in one of the many little typical restaurants, where you could enjoy a popular local codfish dish.

* Walk around the city and you can visit some of the most iconic landmarks and monuments like “Torre dos Clerigos, “Palacio da Bolsa”, “Sao Francisco” Church, “Sao Bento” train Station or even Lello Book shop (one of the oldest in Portugal). Finish the day with a nice coffee at the Majestic Cafe. For dinner, try one of the most traditional dishes in Porto called “Francesinha.” Accommodation in Oporto (or nearby, depending on preference and availability).

Day 3:
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from your hotel and our suggestions for this day:
* Follow the Douro Valley River, which was granted as a UNESCO World heritage site, where you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes, the untouched nature, plus all the wine houses and vineyards. Once in the Douro Valley you can make a stop at one of the Quintas where you can visit a local wine cellar and enjoy some wine tasting.

* For lunch we recommend a stop at a renowned restaurant that boasts a view to the river called DOC.

Check-in and you will stay in Pinhao (or nearby, depending on preference and availability).

Day 4:
Breakfast at the hotel. Our suggestions for this day:
* In the small village of Pinhao see the traditional train station with the beautiful handmade tiles.

* Visit the Quinta do Seixo and enjoy a lovely picnic overlooking, the Douro River.

Accommodation in Pinhao (or nearby, depending on preference and availability).

Day 5:
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from your hotel. Our suggestions for this day:
* Make a stop at Vila Real and visit the "Casa Mateus."

* Continue to Guimaraes (This is considered to be the the birthplace of the Portuguese Nationality) and discover the historic city centre which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Check-in to your hotel accommodation in Braga (or nearby, depending on preference and availability).

Day 6:
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from your hotel. Our suggestions for this day:
* Visit the most well-known stairs in Portugal - the Bom Jesus do Monte (there are more than 577 steps!)

* Continue to the picturesque old town of Ponte de Lima, with the famous Roman bridge. Check-in to your hotel accommodation in Valença (or nearby, depending on preference and availability).

Day 7:
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out formalities. Our suggestions for this day:
* In Moncao, the land of the famous Alvarinho wine, visit the nearby “Palacio da Brejoeira” and its “Quinta“ – enjoy a wine tasting while taking the Tour or buying the House Alvarinho wine.

* Continue towards Viana do Castelo, to visit the beautiful “Santa Luzia” church.

* Proceed along the coast through Esposende, Povoa de Varzim and Matosinhos.

Check-in at your hotel accommodation in Oporto (or nearby, depending on preference and availability).

Day 8:
Breakfast at the hotel
Check-out from the hotel. Make your way to the Oporto Airport for your return flight home.
