Mont Rochelle

I was recently lucky enough to win 2 nights at Mont Rochelle in Franschhoek and thought I would share a little about this lovely hotel. On we arrival had a wonderful friendly welcome, porterage and parking of our car. We then got offered a welcome drink of wine, soft drink or champagne while our luggage was taken to our room. Well, what can I say the champagne was great and so was the view while sipping it. The next bit of good news was that the open bathroom did have an electronic blind that came down for privacy as I was sharing with a friend. We were on B&B but the mini bar, Nespresso and wine in room was all included, they don't believe in surprise mini bar charges. It was replenished twice a day and was well stocked with pringles, chocolates and cookies plus a selection of cold drinks, ciders and water. You also get the option of a free wine tasting when staying there at the hotel, the wines are very good, and we enjoyed the tasting in their Country Kitchen. This area is also open for lunches and light snacks. The breakfast was amazing with a cold buffet and then hot al-a-carte but nice interesting choices, they were totally flexible about adding things to what was on offer. The room was spacious, we were in the cabernet room, which has a terrace onto the lawn and then a big shared lounge facility. The views are breathtaking, and I could not get enough of the mountains. The pool was heated so we went for a night swim after a lovely meal at Reuben's. We did not eat any meals other than breakfast at their restaurant Miko, prices were similar to Reubens and went there as it was on my bucket list. So, if you are looking for a lovely get away in a stunning hotel in a beautiful part of our country get hold of me and I can help you with planning it.
