This was my second visit to the wonderful resort, and yet again, I was in Love!

This hotel is situated on the West Coast of Mauritius on the wonderful Flic en Flac stretch of beach. This truly is one of the best stretches of beaches out there! Wide, long, clean, white beaches with crystal blue waters, and the most glorious sunset, makes this resort one of my favourites.

Inspired by the famous fishing boats of Mauritius, this is where the resort gets its name – LA PIROGUE.

The cottages all open privately onto the resort’s magnificent palm-grove of over 1000 coconut trees right on the sea, it features warm shade and great comfort in a very relaxed atmosphere.

The resort boasts a magnificent infinity pool of over 1000 square meters. It has a harmonious combination of intimately cosy coves and open play areas, islets along with the Paul and Virginie restaurant, all within the pool.

The resort is ideally situated in the proximity of the island’s main commercial centres of Port Louis (25 minutes), Quatre Bornes (25 minutes), and Curepipe (45 minutes). Thanks to its west-coast location, La Pirogue offers numerous excursion opportunities, notably to Casela Park, Chamarel and its seven-coloured earth and the natural South. Other destinations of interest are Black River and the outstanding Tamarina Golf Course.

The sports offered free of charge at La Pirogue include; kayaking, laser-sailing, pedal boats, glass-bottom-boat rides, snorkelling, water-skiing outside the lagoon, windsurfing, sailing (sport catamarans), aqua-gym classes, tennis, aerobics, stretching and yoga classes, frisbee, jogging, mini-football, mini-golf, ping-pong, beach volleyball, basketball, badminton, bocciball and water polo.

Additional sports that are offered at an additional charge are; scuba-diving, big-game fishing, archery, parasailing, banana boat, catamaran outings, horse riding and mountain biking.

For children, there is the Sun Kids Club (for 2-11 year olds) and the Teens Club (for 11-17 year olds). It is open 12 hours a day; it is purpose-planned and equipped to cater for the specific needs of children on holiday. The services of a babysitter (for which there is an additional charge) are also available.
