Fly fishing at Highlands Run

This weekend we headed out from Pretoria to Highlands Run.

The N4 had one or two stoppages but we reached Dullstroom in good time.

We stopped at Harries pancakes for a pancake and coffee and then headed on our way to Lydenburg. The road is full of potholes so travel is either by 4x4 or very slowly. The dirt road to the Highlands run is quite hectic and not to be recommended when wet and when you are not travelling in a 4x4.

However the accommodation is cosy. We arrived to a lovely fire roaring. It comfortably sleeps 8. We had all taken the meals options which meant no cooking for us. Thomas is knowledgeable and took one of our group walking. The men were out early and late to catch trout. There were plenty to catch which meant that they came back very happy.

I spent a leisurely weekend reading and relaxing. It is definitely a great place for those who fish and who need some Rest and Relaxation.
