My name is Jeanne Thirion and I am a proud Travel Counsellor, wife and mother to two wonderful little boys. I am based in Kimberley and I am here to help you realise your dreams of travelling the globe. Being a Travel Counsellor affords me more time to devote to my family and more freedom to meet my client’s needs anytime, anywhere.
I have been a travel professional for over 10 years and it all started after matriculating at the tender age of 17 when I boarded a plane to work as an Au Pair in Germany for a year. Although it was hard at times, I can truly say that I have never looked back and the life and travel experience that I gained was invaluable. After travelling through Europe, sleeping on trains and stations, experiencing different cultures, seeing beautiful sights and making lifelong friends, the travel bug had well and truly bitten.
On return to South Africa, I completed my diploma in Travel and Tourism and received a merit award for the best results achieved. I worked at a privately owned Travel Agency for a year, before joining a well known Travel Service Provider where I worked as a Senior Travel Consultant. During this time I was involved in all aspects of travel, both corporate and leisure, but it was in forging bonds with people whilst planning their long saved for & well deserved holidays that I found my niche. The most rewarding aspect for me is the positive feedback that I received from my clients upon their return, knowing that I had played a part in them attaining unforgettable memories.
Paint my favourite memories, and you’ll see me astride a camel as I pass the Ancient Pyramids at Giza, trekking through a rain forest to the eerie call of the rare Indri Lemur in Madagascar and snorkelling from a glass bottomed boat off a white sandy beach in Mauritius. Each is a special memory and will be treasured forever.
