Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, Durban

I was fortunate enough to attend our national Travel Counsellors conference 02 – 05 May 2019. After a short, seamless and comfortable flight on Kulula, we arrived at King Shaka Airport where we were met and transferred by private vehicle to the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel in Durban.

We received a warm, friendly and professional welcome on arrival. The refreshing welcome drink went down a treat.

Our room was large with 2 double beds and a stunning sea view. A small, but well-appointed bathroom with a shower-in-bath was more than adequate. Housekeeping was timeous and our room was spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, a mini bar and enough wardrobe space for 2 made for a comfortable stay.

Head to the poolside restaurant for a breakfast buffet feast before heading to the Mangwanani Spa, hit the gym or find a spot at one of the pool areas. And if you’re feeling more energetic, hire a bike, take a stroll along the promenade or simply do nothing more than find a quiet spot and do some sea gazing. The hotel is within easy reach of local attractions such as Ushaka and Moses Madiba Stadium and within driving distance of the famous Florida Road or Suncoast Casino.

Large conference rooms and excellent facilities make this an excellent conference venue. Whether you are a businessman, holding a conference, on a family holiday or a romantic getaway, this is hotel has something for everyone.
