Happening Hong Kong

I only spent one night and 2 days in Hong Kong but I did enjoy the short stay I had there and would like to go back and see more next time. I know there are lots to see and do which I didn’t have time to do in between the little sightseeing I did and all the hotel inspections.

Arriving in Hong Kong is quite an experience as the aeroplane navigates its way through the buildings (or so it seems) to come in for landing at the airport. In the last few years, a new airport has been built so this doesn’t happen any longer.

I arrived in the morning and after a quick shower and change I was collected for a city tour. The most memorable part of that tour was going up Victoria Peak and seeing the spectacular view of the surrounding skyline with the world famous Victoria Harbour and towering skyscrapers. I then visited Repulse Bay and then Stanley Market for some bargain hunting.

The two main parts of Hong Kong are Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. There is a ferry between the two. The ferries are very crowded but a good way to get around. In the evening, going across in the ferry is fantastic as the glittering view of Hong Kong harbour at night with the lights from all the surrounding buildings reflecting on the water is spectacular.

Hong Kong has lots to do and see and it is definitely worth another visit.
