My first international flight was in 1970, when I emigrated to South Africa with my family. This was the start of my passion for travel. 10 years later, after finishing school in Cape Town, I made my 2nd trip, as a family visit back to England. My memories of the pain and joy of these trips is still a part of me today. Travelling is an emotional experience for all involved, and I am as excited about each trip I plan, as the travellers themselves!
I joined SAA on my return from England in 1980, and have since worked for various branches of some of the leading corporate travel agencies in Cape Town and Durban, as well as being part of the team to open Thompsons Tours in Cape Town in 1993. I am a qualified tour guide for both the Western Cape and KZN.
My personal travel experiences include helicopter flights over the Iguassu Falls in Brazil and the Vic Falls in Zambia, a felucca trip on the Nile, river rafting in Namibia, and cruising the Med and the South African coast. I have skied in the Tirol, parasailed on Ile Aux Cerf, and ridden a camel to the Sphinx. I have eaten shark in Mauritius, crocodile in Zambia, prawns in Mozambique and in Coco de Mer on Praslin Island. I have snorkelled amongst the most beautiful tropical fish in Mauritius, Seychelles and Ras Mohamed…
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the places and moments that take our breath away.
I love what I do, and look forward to planning your holiday with you.
