Hi, my name is Denise and I am a Travel Counsellor based in Port Elizabeth. I am originally from Johannesburg but moved to the friendly City 8 years ago. I live here with my husband and two beautiful children.
I have always loved travel and I was very fortunate to start doing so at an early age with my parents. I even travelled a couple of times on my own as a young teenager. Once the travel bug bit, I knew I wanted to be involved with travel and so decided that’s what I’d do once I left school. Having decided to do this early in life, I now have 21 years of experience. I have been very fortunate to have gained experience within the airline sector, tour operator sector and for the last 9 years I have worked as a travel consultant. This has given me an advantage as I understand travel from various different aspects. Added to that, I also have personal travel experience whilst travelling alone, then with my husband (the nervous passenger) and more recently with my children as a family.
I must admit that of all that places that I have visited; Egypt and Mauritius are my favourites. Travelling makes you experience the amazing, spectacular and most of all, the changing world around us. To me, that is what is so interesting, the constant change in travel. It is the reason why I am always learning and making sure that I am on top of what is happening around the world. As a traveller I will ensure that I am completely informed and that I have everything I need for my trip and I expect no less for my clients.
Being a Travel Counsellor is a wonderful privilege and it allows me to spend time doing what I love. Not only do I get to do just that, I also get to make travel an amazing experience for my clients, I work from home (backed with fantastic support from my head office in Cape Town), and this allows me to spend quality time with my family. I am available during office hours and for those unforeseen emergencies, I am here too.
