So here we are, all packed and ready to take on the long road trip to the Land of Sand and Dunes - Namibia.
For the first night we stopped over in a town called Upington. It was extremely hot, but luckily we stayed at a resort called Die Eiland and there was a nice cold pool for us to cool down in. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the local Spur Restaurant and had a peaceful nights rest in the little chalets. It is really a very nice stopover.
The next morning we got up nice and early, at 5am! We took to the road again, after an exhorting 9 hours drive; we stopped for another sleep over at the Hardap Dam, in Marintal. This is a very interesting little town, and by 5pm there was no people in sight, the streets were clear, and most of the town was closed!
We continued on our trip and eventually reached the land of Sand and Dunes, and it is as beautiful as all the pictures I have ever seen!
The holiday was full of adventure and there is so much for the adventurous to do. We went to the longest foefie slide that I have ever seen in my whole life, but boy was it fun!
Namibia has so much to offer and there is never be a dull moment, from 4x4 trails, to dune rides on t quad bikes (my personal favourite), to walking trails, you name it, Namibia has it!
For those who are like me, and absolutely love the sea, going to Swakopmund was an awesome experience. Here will also find all the museums, the arts and crafts shops, very similar to that in Pilgrims Rest, just double in size.
Then there is Etosha, the Namib Desert, Sossusvlei, where you can experience so much from helicopter flights to having a champagne breakfast in the desert.
Let’s now not forget about the fishermen, we went to a place called Henties Bay. It is renowned for as an angling destination and many anglers flock to the coast throughout the year. For those nature lovers seeking to discover the mysteries of the Namib Desert it offers various 4x4 routes, which is very popular nowadays.
Namibia has lots to offer and has a little something for everyone; this is a trip that I will never forget!
Namibia was truly a WOW experience! If you would like to find out more, please contact me.
