What an eerie feeling walking next to the mighty Nile. Wow what an experience!
Though we were only in Egypt for 3 nights, I walked away with a new impression of Egypt.
It has always been a dream of mine to travel to Egypt to see the Pyramids and Sphinx in person. But now that I know the history behind these magnificent sites, it has given me so much more appreciation for its existence.
A definite must see in Egypt is the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids of Giza. The show is only an hour long, but with the sun setting behind the 5000 year old Sphinx with the 3 Pyramids in the back ground, it is the most spectacular sight that I have ever seen!
Another favourite activity was the Nile dinner cruise. This was fantastic. The food was absolutely outstanding and the traditional dances were very entertaining!
For all carpet lovers, you don’t need to look any further. Cairo has some of the best carpet schools in the world with prices so low; that you wish that you had a bigger suitcase.
I would recommend a stopover in Cairo on your way to Europe or North America to any one - any day. My travel experience in Egypt has left me with a hunger to go back again.
