The ties between Britain and South Africa go back a very long time. It's no wonder that it has become one of our favourite destinations. There's a sense of familiarity there that makes it feel like a second home to us. The culture and the people are like old friends that you are revisiting. The jewel at the centre of England is London, one of the world's most vibrant and lively cities. This is where you find the finest museums - the Victoria & Albert, the Tate and the National Portrait Gallery and a healthy arts scene featuring the best in theatre, ballet, and music. Whether you're having afternoon tea in Harrods, or touring the Tower of London, there's an underlying sense that their history is our history.
London makes a convenient departure point for exploring other parts of Great Britain. Head to Dublin and enjoy a pint of Guinness at a pub once frequented by writers like James Joyce. Or hike the Scottish Highlands and stay in a medieval castle. Or let a local teach you a few words of Welsh. It's good to go home again and be welcomed like part of the family.
A European holiday may take you to beloved cities like Paris, a true city of romance. Roam the parks and find a spot to sip on French Bordeaux, coupled with creamy brie and a baguette, still warm from the baker's oven. Exchange a kiss atop the Eiffel Tower, or hold hands at a sidewalk café tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac. Love is in the air and in the culture at every turn. Or perhaps you're a fan of la dolce vita (the sweet life) of Italy. Rome, Venice, Florence, and Milan boast fabulous hotels, stunning piazzas, wine and food that will please the most sophisticated palate. If you're the type of traveller who enjoys a sense of discovery, consider Eastern Europe, an emerging area for tourists that is home to beautiful Prague, fabulous Budapest and historic Croatia. With so much to see in Europe, a coach tour may be the ideal fit for you. It's an affordable option that showcases the best that Europe has to offer.
What we love about Europe
If you have a sweet tooth, European desserts will satisfy your appetite, from Italy's rich tiramisu to Switzerland's chocolate fondues.
There's an emphasis on living the good life, where sipping wine or going to the spa aren't viewed as indulgent, but as essentials.

Visiting a new destination is always exciting for me, so when I had the opportunity to attend our recent Annual International Conference in Marbella, Spain, I jumped at the chance to finally set my feet in Spain. I was not brilliant and in a relatively short time, I managed to take in a few of Spain’s beautiful cities and get a feel for what is truly a remarkable European country.
First stop was Marbella which was reached via Malaga, about an hour’s flight from Madrid but also served by several direct flights from the UK. I was privileged to stay in the 5 Star Guadulpin Marbella Hotel, a short stroll from the golden beaches. The service was excellent, staff friendly and my room spacious and tastefully decorated. The Jacuzzi on the balcony was sublime, with spectacular views of the ocean.
Marbella consists of 3 areas – the long stretches of beach with a promenade affording pleasant strolls and dotted with cafes and restaurants along the way; the modern part of the city with boutiques... view full story
