South Africans are among the world's most devoted sun lovers. The combination of sun and surf are sure-fire winners, but when you add a culture that has evolved over thousands and thousands of years, you get a destination that has ample to offer. Take Thailand, for example. It continues to charm us with its friendly people, renowned hotels and resorts, and a wonderfully distinct cuisine that lingers in our memory long after the first bite. From the invigorating bustle of Bangkok to the peace and tranquility of the outlying islands, Thailand is an enchanting place that travellers never tire of visiting. There's so much to explore. Then there's Malaysia. Beyond the urban sophistication and intoxicating shopping scene of Kuala Lumpur, it is home to amazing jungle experiences. And a royal welcome always awaits its guests.
No doubt you know someone who has been to China and been dazzled by the experience. How can you not be awestruck by iconic sights like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City? They are a must-see for anyone who wants to take in the best that Asia has to offer. As an Asian holiday spot, China has come on strong over the last decade. As the host country to the summer 2008 Olympics, travellers are anxious to learn much more about it.
For the first time visitor to Asia, consider a holiday to Singapore and Bali. They strike a harmonious balance between new and old, as well as Western and Eastern cultures. Singapore serves as a microcosm of Asia itself, with beautiful temples, fantastic shopping and a modern spirit. Meanwhile, Bali makes a mark on your heart with a spirituality that permeates every aspect of island life.
The wonders of Asia unfold one country at a time. Let Travel Counsellors help you begin your journey of discovery today.
